Theories of Asian Architecture
Project 1:
Contextual Study Sketch Journal of a Traditional Street
In this assignment we are given the task to do a site visit and data collection on the streets that are being mentioned in the brief. I chose China Town, Lorong Panggung, Kuala Lumpur and I went there to do data collection by physical and non-physical context. All the data collected has to transform into a manual hand-drawn journal.

Reflection
We are given the chance to do a site visit where I can really experience the site by feel, see, touch and smell on the site. It is definitely better than doing the research from the internet source. When I was doing the site visit I really do get some information that is not in the internet, I really get to explore the streets by walking around and it is easier for me to do data collection.
Project 2:
Poster and Seminar - Contemporary Issues in Asian Architecture
Project 2 is a group project due to we have chosen different street from the project 1 and the majorities agree to choose Jalan Tun H.S. Lee and continue to do further research after the data collected from project 1. In this assignment we are require to produce a research poster, and then we have to identify the issues in the street and come out with the solutions. All the points have to be supported with proofs. The old shophouses and the building in the streets are the main focus on this assignment.

Reflection
Throughout this assignment I learnt that the definition of adaptive reuse, it is a way to preserve the heritage while keeping it's originality. This is also the first time I get to involve and to produce a research paper, its a hard one for me and my groupmates and it went better after the advice and feedback given from the tutor to improve our work. After finishing the poster I really thought about the importance of preserving the old heritage and the impact of it.
