Diagramming Architectural Principles

In this group assignment we need to select one building given in the brief, my group chose Wooden Cabin by Stilts by Architect Atelier Marko Brajovic as our building in this assignment to do further research and investigation and express it through the 5 diagrams which are PATI, context, space planning, circulation & zoning and structure.

Reflection

In this assignment me and my group members were having a hard time by adapting the new architecture knowledge and have to done it within 2 weeks, this was my very first time for being a leader but we managed to done it in time and I get to improve my leading skill and communication skills.

Project 2:
Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality

In this group assignment we have to carry forward the design principle of project 1 to project 2 and create a discovery platform and the materiality for the building. Due to having the experience of being a leader, my group members recommended me as the leader for project 2 as well.

Reflection

What's the biggest thing I learn from this group project is we have to work together physically as a group if it's a group project for the ease of communication and guide each other and improve together as a group. The process of this project was going better than I expected, team members were being very active and dare to speak up for their ideas.

Project 3:
Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality + Context + User

This assignment is differentiate to two parts, first is we were given the chance to do site visit on Bukit Jalil Recreation Park to observe and do research there as a group and produce Design Response Vignettes Matrix, and then from the Design Response Vignettes Matrix we have to come out with site use alternatives as a individual task, after the site use alternatives we are required to design a building for myself and another user based on the research have done earlier.

Reflection

This assignment time length is almost 2 months and there are group and individual project, in the group project we really need to do observation and investigation on the site to get info which makes it feels more realistic, After the group project I have to pick a micro site and do the investigation on site context and apply it on my final design. The whole process for me is actually very fun which I get to design a building on a physical and real context for me to do more exploration.
